On This Date in 1775: Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride

245 years ago, Paul Revere was given the task of riding from Boston to Lexington, Massachusetts, with the news that British troops were about to march into the countryside northwest of Boston. The troops planned to arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock, who were staying at a house in Lexington.  Paul Revere made his famous Midnight Ride that ultimately played a key role in the warning the “Sons of Liberty” that the American Union was in danger of disintegrating (which it was).

In the Summer of 2018, Jennifer and I took Katy to Cape Cod for her High School Graduation Trip.  On the trip, we toured the Paul Revere House in Boston.  After the tour, I picked up Joel Miller’s book on The Revolutionary Paul Revere.
