Tomorrow is the National Day of Encouragement—an annual day dedicated to uplifting people around us and making a positive impact. In fact, offering encouragement to someone is free. It never costs us anything to say a few words to inspire someone around us. Even a reassuring word to a stranger may make a difference in their lives.
To honor this day, we could turn to my previous post that summarized John Maxwell’s Encouragement Changes Everything, but I thought it would good to offer an additional resource. So, we turn to John Townsend’s People Fuel: How Energy from Relationships Transforms Life, Love, and Leadership.
As Townsend puts it, “If you want life to work better for you, this book is for you.” The great majority of us are not tapping into the enormous power and energy that come from the right people.
You will learn what is available for you in what Townsend calls the twenty-two relational nutrients. You’ll see how to obtain them and use the energy they provide. And you’ll learn who in your life to become closer to and who you may need more distance from.
