Be More Vader?

On this Star Wars Day of 2019, I decided to find a leadership book based on Star Wars.  Fortunately, Amazon had one:  Be More Vader: Assertive Thinking from the Dark Side by Christian Blauvett.  Blauvett’s 2018 book has some good observations about the leadership style, principles, and assertiveness of the Sith.

As Blauvett points out, “Be More Vader provides the essential advice to help you succeed at work.  It will enable you to follow in the footsteps of the Dark Lord of the Sith—even if you don’t possess the power of the dark side.”

Not surprisingly, many of these principles run counter to most of my own leadership philosophy and style, which is more based on Servant Leadership.  In this post, I’ll offer Blauvett’s perspective then my own observations.

Rest in Peace, Mano

Easter 2015; Thanksgiving 2016; and Easter 2018

Margarete Larue Pyle went home to Jesus on December 28, 2018.  She was born in Beeville, Texas on September 8, 1925, graduated from Beeville High School, then fell in love with a WWII veteran, Allen Pyle, and married him on June 1, 1946.  He was my middle namesake, and you can see my tribute to my Paw Paw here.

Mano—as I knew her—had two sons:  Robert (with wife Judy), my parents, and Ronnie (with wife Linda).  Her love for Jesus Christ was evident to everyone she met.  Her positive attitude and love for others drew people to want to know the source of her joy and strength—Jesus Christ!

Mano’s sweet spirit endeared her to everyone who met her and left her family and friends with precious memories of a life filled to overflowing with Jesus’ love.
