What’s Love Got to Do With It?

If we truly love people, we will desire for them far more than it is within our power to give them, and this leads us to prayer. - Richard J. Foster

As I mentioned in my January 1 post, my focus for the year will be on Love & Leadership. For my birthday in November, my sister-in-law gave me a gift card that I used to purchase a copy of the Fruit of the Spirit Bible Study on Love & Building Healthy Relationships by Peter Scazzero.

I went through the study over the Christmas and New Year Holiday and will share the highlights with you here. I agree with and like Rick Warren’s quote on love & leadership (in the picture above).

There’s no getting around it: people are motivated by rewards. God certainly understands this. The Bible is filled with promises of rewards God will give to those who follow Him.

Out of This World Leaders understand the human need for reward, and they make use of recognition to lift morale and improve performance. That’s why I like Gary Chapman and Dr. Paul White’s book, The Five Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace (see my March 12th post for a summary).
