How’s Your Timing?

There comes a special moment in everyone's life, a moment for which that person was born. That special opportunity, when he seizes it, will fulfill his mission - a mission for which he is uniquely qualified. In that moment, he will find greatness. It is his finest hour. - Winston Churchill

In HR, we try to ensure we have the “right leader in the right place at the right time.” Winston Churchill speaks of timing in the picture above.

For Out of This World Leaders, the right action at the right time brings success. Anything else exacts a high price.

That’s where John Maxwell’s 19th (of 21) Law of Leadership comes in. The Law of Timing says, “When to lead is as important as what to do and where to go.”

Simplify: 10 Practices to Unclutter Your Soul

Simplify by Bill Hybels

Can you relate to any of these words: exhausted…overwhelmed…overscheduled…anxious…isolated…dissatisfied? Bill Hybels—founding and senior pastor of Willow Creek Community Church in Illinois, which has been recognized as the most influential church in America for several years—began using the term “simplify.” How do we simplify our lives? He saw how the very word seemed to energize people, so he wrote a book Simplify: Ten Practices to Unclutter Your Soul.

In the book, Hybels points out that simplified living is about more than just doing less. It’s being who God called us to be, with a wholehearted, single-minded focus. It’s walking away from innumerable lesser opportunities in favor of the few to which we’ve been called and for which we’ve been created.
