ChatGPT-generated picture of me in 30 years!

As I considered a 30-year plan, I couldn’t help but hear Tim McGraw’s song with that title, which says:

My next 30 years I’m gonna

Cry a little less, laugh a little more

Find a world of happiness without the hate and fear

Oh, my next 30 years

I’m gonna watch my weight

Eat a few more salads and not stay up so late

My next 30 years will be the best years of my life

Raise a little family and hang out with my wife

Spend precious moments with the ones that I hold dear

Similarly, Kenny Chesney’s song Don’t Blink puts it this way:

I turned on the evening news

Saw an old man being interviewed

Turning a hundred and two today

Asked him what’s the secret to life?

He looked up from his old pipe

Laughed and said, “All I can say is Don’t blink”

Don’t blink, you just might miss

Your babies growing like mine did

Turning into moms and dads

Next thing you know your better half

Of fifty years is there in bed

And you’re praying God takes you instead

Trust me friend a hundred years

Goes faster than you think, so don’t blink

“Best start putting first things first”

‘Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand

You can’t flip it over and start again

Take every breath God gives you for what it’s worth

Those are powerful messages to live with intention. Make the most of your days…

As I consider the future, I think about my life in three phases. The first is when I continue to have a day job, as I continue to build the blog, books, and speaking engagements on the side.

Check out my plan:

Brady Pyle 30-Year Strategic Plan

for Speaking & Ministry

Phase 1: 2025–2030 (Fifties) | Building Reach & Influence

Focus: Speaking & ministry opportunities leveraging SHAPE (spiritual gifts; heart; abilities; personality; experiences).

Speaking Engagements

Target 5–10 events annually with churches, Christian conferences, and leadership retreats that prioritize themes like Fruit of the Spirit Leadership, NASA Leadership Lessons, and Servant Leadership.

Ministry Engagement

Serve in church leadership roles as opportunities align and mentor ministry teams using OutOfThisWorldLeadership.com resources.

Platform Development

Grow online presence (website, LinkedIn, X, podcast guest appearances). Refine a mailing list and newsletter for ongoing engagement.

Phase 1 Goal: Sharpen content & establish credibility as a trusted Christian leadership voice.

Phase 2: 2030–2040 (Sixties) | Expanding Impact

Focus: Broader reach through podcasting, writing, and wider speaking.

Podcast Launch

Upon conclusion of my day job, initiate an “Out of This World Leadership” podcast, which will blend Christian faith and NASA leadership insights, aiming for consistent releases. Feature at least 50 notable Christian leaders as guests over the decade.

Speaking & Ministry

Expand to national speaking opportunities at Christian leadership and workplace ministry events, reaching at least 750 Christian leaders through conferences, workshops, and retreats.

Writing & Publishing

Publish another book (or devotional series) on Christian leadership shaped by Fruit of the Spirit and NASA lessons.

Mentorship

Formalize a leadership mentoring program (could be online cohorts).

Phase 2 Goal: Build a scalable platform that extends ministry influence nationally and digitally.

Phase 3: 2040–2050+ (Seventies+) | Legacy & Multiplication

Focus: Mentorship, church-based ministry, and multiplying leaders.

Church Partnership

Work closely with pastors to support ministries (leadership pipelines, coaching staff, mentoring lay leaders).

Mentorship Network

Develop a structured mentoring program for Christian leaders (1:1 and group). Train and equip others to continue the approach beyond your direct involvement.

Succession & Legacy

Identify and mentor 10–15 leaders who can extend the vision. Consider archiving/sharing the body of work (blogs, podcasts, books) as a lasting resource library.

Phase 3 Goal: Shift from being the primary voice to being a multiplier of others—building a legacy of servant leaders.

I’ve made my plan to steward the next thirty years well. However, I am open to the possibilities…especially if God moves in a different direction, but I don’t want to waste the time I’ve been given…

I want to be intentional to leverage the gifts and experiences I’ve been given.

How about you? Are you planning for the next 30 years and beyond?
